Papa's Chicken

I watched a video about this place and was interested in gluten-free rice batter. Made it to go along with sweet potato fries which I almost finished on the way home! Super crispy and tasty. And the smell of chicken made me more hungry while doing home delivery. It was good even after 40mins. The staffs(server and chef) were so nice!

Crispy, crispy, crispy, hot and made with care…. Oh so delicious… Definitely recommend if your wanting that crunch and juicy chicken wing. The soy sauce-honey and spicy chicken wings were our favorites! They were seasoned just right and made to perfection! Service was great, they made us feel like home. Returning very soon! 💕

Papa's Chicken is a Korean eatery in Los Angeles. You can have take away, delivery or dine in. We like to dine in. If you want to get take away, I suggest you call them and order because the wait is about 30 minutes for pick up. It is all made to order. We love dine in. The service is super friendly and the place is cute, not fancy. It is always clean. The food is super. All of their chicken is fried in rice flour so it is not like your American fried chicken. It is just great. We love all of it. They have the best wings in soy sauce and we love the original chicken pops. It is all great. You have to try it. You will love it.

Food - 5/5 This is the BEST Korean fried chicken I've had in ktown. If you google "best Korean fried chicken," you'll get places like Kyochon, etc. Those are good, but they are also overpriced, not as high quality as Papa's Chicken, and the portion sizes are smaller (both amount and size of wings). Papa's Chicken is a GEM I ordered a small basket of 1/2 original fried wings and 1/2 soy sauce wings. The wings were large and incredibly crispy (they use rice flour instead of regular flour) and of course, the insides were tender and juicy. I left wishing I had stomach space for more. Needless to say, I will DEF be coming back for more!!! Ambiance - 4/5 The restaurant is small and has around 8-10 tables that can seat 2-4 each. Like most Korean fried chicken places, it's not super modern and has a slight oily feel to tables (I mean, it's fried food - it's as expected). It's a little retro and nostalgic though! Service - 4/5 Service was a little slower than usual. Korean fried chicken in general takes a longer to prepare because they fry it fresh (they usually fry it twice) so that's totally understandable. Also, there was only one server/waitress when we were there and she also had to balance waiting other tables and takeout requests. That being said, she was incredibly attentive (i.e. checking in on us) and amiable. Other notes: 1. There is FREE parking for the plaza (no valet needed) and plenty of street parking (some free, some meter) near the restaurant. This is a HUGE plus in ktown. 2. They do NOT offer takeout via grubhub, ubereats, etc. They only offer takeout through a restaurant-affiliated delivery service. You just need to call the restaurant directly and they will take care of the delivery.

I was sad when this place shut down during pandemic, but since they reopened a couple of years ago, it’s been one of my fave KFC in Ktown. They use rice flour for their batter which makes the skin crispier in my opinion. I’d say order spicy mild, I think that’s their best flavor. For someone like me who’s bad at spicy, spicy mild is still very tolerable.
